Friends of Pacific Oaks
Friends of Pacific Oaks is a group of alumnae/i, students, former faculty, staff, early childhood educators, and former Board members, who have joined together to save Pacific Oaks College from a threatened "contingency plan" to implement a "teach out" and close the college. This action could occur as early as the Board of Trustees Fall board meeting to be held the last weekend of September or the first weekend of October.
A core group of the friends of Pacific Oaks is asking for the Board to affirm its commitment to the continuance of Pacific Oaks by asking for the immediate resignation of President Carolyn Denham, or, failing that, a confidential, community-wide evaluation of President Denham. We also ask the Board to reaffirm the mission of Pacific Oaks as articulated in its Mission Statement, to implement a Capital Campaign to reduce the College's dependence upon tuition, and to initiate a representative committee to do the following:
- decide on transitional leadership,
- hire a Provost for Academic Affairs,
- plan for a Presidential Search Process,
- develop a community-wide long range plan,
- seek additional Board members close to the mission of the institution.
